The entry GW50 optical sensor with turbidity compensation included, robustly designed for long term deployment. Uniquely designed ‘sub-50mm’ for installation in bores with an internal diameter of 50mm or greater (2 inch). Can also be used in surface water. For maximum accuracy, water must be low in turbidity and with limited dissolved organic carbon.
- Uniquely designed to allow installation in 50 mm wells. These are often able to be installed by low-cost direct-push technologies, reducing the overall installation cost.
- Remote data-logging capability for real-time data.
- Specifically engineered to achieve a low cost of ownership that enables deployment across multiple sites at the catchment or farm scale.
- Low power consumption (solar power installation possible).
- The sensor utilises UV optical sensor technology to extend the service interval when compared to other lower cost technologies such as Ion Selective Electrodes (ISE), which often suffer from significant calibration drift.
- Periodic cleaning (rather than calibration) is required, greatly reducing ongoing maintenance.
- Continuous monitoring, rather than spot sampling, is rapidly growing within the agricultural community due to the need for better data leading to a greater understanding.
Common Uses:
- Developing a complete understanding of a farm's nitrate footprint.
- Drinking water and stock water monitoring. Cost effective, instant measurement of total nitrates at a site with data logging or remote telemetered data.
- Accurate and reliable measurement of total nitrates in potable groundwater wells, rivers, streams, lakes, farm waterways, and irrigation channels.
- Measurement of total nitrates in any optically clear water body where contamination with DOC (Dissolved Organic Carbon) is low.
- Building a better understanding of the impact of environmental factors (ie rainfall) through regular, instant measurement in real-time to enhance community engagement.
